There are new DIY Spots, and Government funded Parks and Plazas popping up all over the city constantly and the plan for the weekend was to take Skateboarding’s heaviest Transition Skaters, a few Street dudes and the frothing masses on a Skateboard Jam Tour of everything CPH has to offer. The list of Skater’s who came out to roll around was all time! Raven Tershy, Ishod Wair, Grant Taylor, Ben Hatchell, Raney Beres, Ronnie Sandoval, Rune Glifberg, Trey Wood, Austin Poynter, Chris Russell, Chet Childress, Al Partenen, Kevin Kowalski, Peter Ramondetta, Greyson Fletcher, Arto Saari, Justin Brock, Zach Miller, Sam Beckett, Oski Rozenberg, Jake Collins, Darkness, Willis Kimbel. We could go on and on.
Faelledparken has become a bucket list park for anybody who loves Skating big Bowls. Located in one of CPH’s famous outdoor spaces landscaped by the late Edvard Glaesel, the park itself used to be a proving ground for all things Danish Sport from Auto Racing to Soccer. Nowadays Skaters from all over the world flock to pump around the over vert concrete wave, drop into the newly constructed Vert Ramp or just lurk out under the looming shady tree back by the shallow elbow of the Bowl. Stop 2. Faelledparken Pool. Ben Hatchell has a ridiculous bag of tricks and Skated the love seat like he was at a Backyard Mini Ramp. Every Jam was heated! Chris Russell, AKA "The MuscleΓ’ΒΒ is a 17-year-old terminator. Chris Skates with the power and confidence of a seasoned veteran and blasted Airs and threw up Inverts all over the deep end. Austin Poynter’s smooth style and air awareness took him sky high lofting the biggest Air of the Pool Jam just before a 100-year rainstorm moved in and rained out the remaining heats.
The torrential downpour and flooding couldn’t keep the crew down in the slightest. Stop 3 was planned to take place in the Deep Bowl at Faelledparken but due to Mother Nature, William and the CPH Skatepark Team buckled down and moved things home to the CPH Skatepark. Skateboarding leaves you on your toes every moment and the last minute decision was celebrated! New plan. Indoor Bowl Contest and Padless Vert Jam. Easy. 13-year-old Trey Wood Skated landed more tricks in the CPH Bowl than most Skaters tried the whole weekend. Flowing around with speed and style, Trey put in work and earned his stripes in both the Bowl and on the Vert Ramp. Ishod Wair cruised the Bowl like it was in his yard and our SOTY took a hipper mid jam that had the crowd wincing. But you can’t keep Ishod down and he was back at it that evening on the dance floor during the post contest festivities! Congratulations go out to Chris Russell for completely destroying the Indoor Bowl and taking 1st place in the Bowl Final. Chris’s Disasters make the deck shake!
